Each year the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) Cornwall and District presents scholarships—from $600 to $800—to graduating female students at 12 secondary schools in Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry.

The Scholarship Fund receives a remarkable level of support from the membership through internal fundraising activities.  Since the inception of the program in 1957, $95,000 has been awarded to deserving female graduates of the secondary schools in our area.

According to CFUW criteria, as well as being enrolled in a Canadian University, scholarship recipients must demonstrate “character, promise and scholarship”.

In 2015, “financial need” was added as a consideration. The CFUW Scholarship Committee coordinates the distribution of scholarships.
